I can't get up in the morning without coffee and I drink coffee because I love it. Personally I do not feel like getting any energy from it but I just love drinking it. I do not drink it with sugar or milk and some days I drink seven cups of coffee per day . Some days I drink only two . The thing I observed is that if I drink coffee before going to bed I can still sleep all night but get up early in the morning, which I can't do if I don't drink it. That's the effect caffeine has over me."
Tina replied: "I drink almost a gallon of ice tea a day. I start from the time I get up until I go to bed. I don't do it for the caffeine per say but when I don't have it I do get terrible headaches."
Can somebody revise or correct my sentences? and can you add a funny thing? Drinking Soda
Soda is one of the most popular soft drinks here in the Unite States. Maybe it is the caffeine that makes soda taste so good, or maybe it is the sugar. Soda is now a household item, just like milk. There is a study showed that the United State is the most country that it’s people drinking soda. The average American drinks about 65 gallons of soda a year. The largest customers for soda are teenagers and children. According to the Centre for Science, teenagers in the United States now drinking soda twice as much as milk. Fifty-six percent of 8-year-olds down soft drinks daily. We have all to think about the harmful effects of this drink in our bodies. Soda causes many health problems that everyone can suffer from like fattiness, tooth decay, and caffeine dependence.
Recently a study showed a strong link between drinking soda and childhood obesity, that is because of the big amount of sugar that a can of soda has which is about ten teaspoons of sugar. It is made sure that sugar can be cause to high blood pressure, high cholesterol and heart diseases. Soda includes a high amount of calories too, almost 150 calories per 12 once can. In my opinion the main cause for why children like to drink soda is that soda is available in school.
Second, tooth decay. Newly a study showed nearly 3200 Americans 9 to 29 years old who drink soda have tooth decay. Not just because of the high level of sugar in soda, but because of all element in soft drinks that cause tooth problems. The acids in soda pop are also notorious for etching tooth enamel in ways that can cause to cavities.
Third, I will talk about caffeine dependence. Soda like coffee includes large amounts of caffeine. Even sofa drink industry agrees that caffeine causes the same effects in children as adults, therefore, people who drink soda because addicted on it because their need for the caffeine. Soda contains an average of 35 to 38 milligrams per 12 ounce can. Even diet sodas which are usually chosen by those who are trying to control calories and sugar often pack a lot more caffeine than regular soda.
If you are still drinking soda this is something that is quite simple to stop. In my mind there is absolutely no justification and reason to drink soda. Both sugar and NutraSweet are deadly to your health and will gradually rob you of it. So stick to pure water.

"Funny" thing you can add: Why would you like to drink a substance that can even be used to remove rust from a metal surface!!??? *note: this is what I read that can be done with Coke.
I hope that helps, I'm not an expert either but I do tend to do good on style correcting ;))"
Am I drinking too much caffeine? I don't think I am but I just want to be on the safe side. During this pregnancy it has been really hard for me to keep back the nausea, one of the only drinks that helps is Mt. Dew. I know, it's one of the worst soft drinks I could drink but it's really the only one that helps. I only drink one a day, maybe two sometimes, depending on how I feel. Are two Mt. Dew's a day too much caffeine for the baby? What about coffee? I stick to decaf but I hear it isn't much better. When I researched amounts I read on several web sites that no more than 300mg of caffeine a day is the limit, 300 mg seems like a lot. Any info. would be helpful.
David replied: "if you drink other liquids, like water, you should be o.k."

Scott S replied: "Have you tried caffeine free Mountain Dew, does it provide the same soothing effect of the regular type you are drinking?
Are you aware that caffeine is in other drinks and foods, such as tea and chocolate?
In general, I’m very positive about the use of caffeine because of its many benefits. This based on my use of it for almost 4 decades and the medical research that I’m aware of. But, my best pro-caffeine source says there are two issues that argue against the use of caffeine during pregnancy.
First, caffeine withdrawal symptoms are observed in infants where the mothers were “heavy” caffeine users. This was based on unusual levels of irritability, jitteriness, and vomiting. (I’m sorry, I didn’t have time to dig into what dosage they refer to as “heavy”.) A number of studies are observing the effects of 200 mg per day on pregnant women.
Caffeinated Mountain Dew contains 36 mg per 8oz serving.
A can is 12 oz, so that is 54 mg. Two cans is 108 mg, that is less than one-half the recommended limit of 300 mg/day you found. But that is still enough to cause a degree caffeine withdrawal after birth. That suggests your baby would begin life with headaches, body aches, and increased tension. Reducing your dosage would reduce withdrawal symptoms. There is no exact dosage threshold to completely avoid withdrawal (other than zero mg) because people differ in sensitivity to caffeine, but it is pretty low.
The second issue is that animal studies have suggested there might be a caffeine related health issue in developing humans. Careful studies such as this one have eliminated some questions raised in earlier studies. However, to date, human studies have not been completed to eliminate all developmental questions raised by the animal studies.
It just seems prudent to eliminate caffeine as much as possible during pregnancy. If you reduce your use of caffeine, taper-off over a week to avoid withdrawal symptoms for the two of you.
My best source contains summaries of mainstream medical research on caffeine is “The Caffeine Advantage”:
Our family uses papaya in chewable tablets to reduce feelings of nausea."
Do people generally think Coca Cola is good for you? Claims Coke will not make children fat or rot their teeth have landed Coca-Cola in trouble with Australia's consumer watchdog, which on Thursday ordered the soft drink company to correct its advertising.
As well as claiming Coke did not make children fat or harm their teeth, the full-page print ads sought to combat public perceptions that Coke was packed with large amounts of caffeine.

Ditto D replied: "Most people know Coca Cola is not good for you. Only the stupid people who sue McDonald for making them fat believe coke is healthy. When coca cola first came it contained cocaine. Some say it still does."
Chaosman replied: "One 355ml can of Coca-Cola
Calories: 160
Sugar: 42g
Caffeine: 46mg
Drinking one can of Coca-Cola is similar to drinking a coffee with 5 spoonfuls of sugar. There is also a very strong acid in it called phosphoric acid. It's bad for your teeth.
All of this being said, there is nothing really bad for your health in Coca-Cola. Like anything else, taken in moderation, combined with a normal dental health regimen, there should be no problem with drinking a can of Coke or two every now and then.
Take care!"
Trust Me replied: "To be honest with you I've been drinking coke for years and years and years, the only problem I've had with my teeth are the ones caused by dentists drilling and filling when I was a kid, and no I didn't drink coke as a kid. As for sugar, well I have around 10 coffees a day with 3 sugars in each. I'm 47, slim as anything, always have been, look like I'm in early thirties, (that's boyce from fools and horses in the pic by the way!) and have never had a serious illness in my life, mumps as a kid, chicken pox as an adult and colds and flus.
So, basically, I enjoy coca cola, I drink at least a can a day, and I don't give a stuff what tests and analysis say about it."

Even Diet Sodas are bad for you, and the caramel coloring is harsh on the system. Caffeine is always something to watch out for. should the legendary high-caffeinated soft drink SURGE be brought back onto shelves in the US? Many people including myself miss the beverage SURGE. Even though it is high-caffeine, it has only 74% of Mountain Dew's caffeine level. In case you havent heard, studies show that Mountain Dew contains almost the exact same amount of acid as a standard car battery (for a 1993 Honda civic). And that is just disturbing. Surge sold over 78 million cases (24 cans/case) in its first year. Some of these extremely acidic beverages i.e. mountain dew and vault need to get off the shelves and make way for SURGE!
statistics replied: "i haven't really heard of surge myself...wouldnt mind trying, so bring it back! but i do love mountain dew! never knew i was drinking car batteries though..."
krystal s replied: "I miss having a can of SURGE while I study at night. How that heck am I going to pass the mid-term without it? I won't be able to stay awake! Mountain Dew is absolute poison and Red Bull is too weak. Grrr...."
steven y replied: "Yes they should because it is amazing, btw i still have and use the surge alarm clock that i won from under the cap game. It will wake anyone up garaunteed!"
Daisie replied: "yes, they should definitely bring SURGE back"
Big Red replied: "Surge IS back on the shelves in the US....but its now called "Vault". Keep trying Coca Cola...someday you might have a 'neon citrus' soft drink that can compete with Mt. Dew."
Sam replied: "I would probably think so. Do you?"

Pros and Cons of Chocolate Diet
Every diet has its own share of advantages and disadvantages. Same is the case with the chocolate diet. There is a big debate amongst nutrition specialists and dieticians about its pros and cons. Before switching completely to this diet, it is better to consult your doctor and get all the tests done, to ensure that it is not harmful for your body in any manner. Also, remember this is not a permanent diet, so after sometime, you need to switch on to some other diet, in order to avoid monotony and replenish the nutrient missing from your body, if any.
Pros
*It helps one overcome the depression that is often experienced during dieting.
*It is a boon for the chocoholics who want to reduce weight.
*It promotes the intake of vegetables and fruits.
*The diet is not monotonous. It offers variety in almost all the meals.
Cons
*The calorie intake is too low for people who are physically hyperactive.
*Though the diet is varied, it is not stuffing enough.
*Some people may find that chocolate, when taken in small amounts, increases their craving.
*This is not a long term diet.
*Losing 7 pounds in two weeks seems a bit unhealthy.
*This diet will not be liked by people who don't crave chocolate.
my daughter is fan of this diet
Insolentleet aka Javid replied: "what's wrong with caffeine? caffeine is good for fat loss
it also seems to be heavily lacking in protein, unless this is for females you're mal-nutritioning yourself. You can get vitamins from pills, but where're you getting your protein from?
and as you've mentioned it has almost no calories to it...
I'd say females can easily get the most out of this and it'll work
and 7 lbs in 2 weeks, is slightly unhealthy, but since you're getting no sodium you're going to lose water weight. i wouldn't be surprised if 2lbs from that weight would be water.
which would then result in 5 actual pounds of weight loss...that's not bad at all."

knz replied: "i live to eat !
doesn't bother me."
Rez replied: "Where's the part about getting regular exercise? Instead of eating an ounce of chocolate go for a walk and bug out on the trees, then have a cup of tea and meditate before you go to bed. Short term diets are foolish, to be blunt. Change habits and change your mind and you will be changed for the better. Short term diets are nothing more than excuses.
Above all, remember this:
The way has no true shape
and therefore we cannot control it.
If a ruler could control the way
all things would follow
in harmony with his desire,
and sweet rain would fall,
effortlessly slaking every thirst.
The way is shaped by use,
but then the shape is lost,
do not hold fast to shapes
but let sensation flow into the world
as a river courses down to the sea.

exponential decay function? A serving of a popular cola soft drink has 46 mg of caffeine. Suppose the half-life for caffeine remaining in he body of a typical adult is 6 h. Write an exponential decay function that gives the amount of caffeine in the body after t hours.
I don't understand, can anyone please help? Thanks!
math guy replied: "Let c = caffeine left in body (in mg)
t = time (in hours)
e is approx = 2.72
c = 46 * 0.5^(t/6)
This means that you start with 46 mg of caffeine in your body and after every 6 hours, you have half as much left.
I hope this helps!"
anand t replied: "see,
N(t) = N(0) * e^(-t/T)
Now T = (t1/2 ) / (ln 2)
So By calculating value of T and putting it into the above equation u can find out the value of caffine after t hrs.
Getting it?

jimschem replied: "Let: t = time in hours.
hours - amount - power of 2
6h 1/2 2^-1
12h 1/4 2^-2
18h 1/8 2^-3
24h 1/16 2^-4
Formula: 2^(-t/6)
Hope this helps :-)"
Liethbanker replied: "The form of exp.decay function is :
a(t) = a(0) e ^ (kt)
where
a(t) is the amount/number at time t
a(0) is the amount/number at time 0
e ^ (kt) is natural logarithm
k is constant : k < 0 for decay, k > 0 for growth
t is time
then
a(0) = 46 mg
a(t) = a (6 h) = 46/2 = 23 : half life
t = 6 h
unknown k can be solved by taking "ln" for both side of the eq.
23 = 46 e ^ (k*6)
23 / 46 = e ^ (k*6)
ln (23/46) = ln e ^ (k*6)
-0.69 = k*6
k = -0.12
the exp. function is
a(t) = 23 e^ ( -0.12 * t )"
algrant33 replied: "Hooray for differential equations!"
