The eskimo blanket toss (called a nalukataq) was designed to have fun after a successful whaling seasonduring the nalukataq celebration, one person gets in the middle of the blanket and stands there while being tossed by the other people (called pullers) holding the edges of the blanketthe person being tossed gets as high as 30 feet in the air and must land on his/her fete without falling downthe objective of the blanket toss was to be tossed the highest while maintaining grace and balancesometimes you could see the jumper dancing or running in placeand sometimes flips and somersaults were done to the delight of the pullers and spectatorsquite the feat and quite the fun celebration!
